From Just Showing Up To Dominion: The Leadership Journey That Transforms Nations
Dear change-makers, leaders of nations, professionals of purpose:
Showing up is not enough – The
Mandate is Dominion!
Let me speak to you today with the
tone of a preacher, and the clarity of a teacher. It is not enough to show
up. It is not enough to participate. Your time of arrival must be
marked by right positioning, your involvement crowned by impact and
transformation.
Arrival Is Important; Positioning Is Critical
“You shall have no dominion if you
are just present and passive.” How often do we settle for attendance - joining
the meeting, showing up at the conference, being present at the event - and yet
leave nothing changed? The mighty Roman general said, “Veni, vidi, vici” - “I
came, I saw, I conquered.” That conquering is the key: coming + seeing +
conquering. It is not enough simply to come and see. You must conquer. You must
win the territory of your purpose.
In the opening chapters of Scripture
we read this divine mandate:
“Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in
Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them have dominion….’” (Genesis
1:26)
“Then God blessed them; and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill
the earth and subdue it; have dominion….’” (Genesis 1:28)
The language is clear: dominion,
multiplication, filling the earth, subduing. This is not mere presence.
It is not passive stewardship. It is dynamic, purposeful expansion.
So the first step in our strategic
content for impact: Are you rightly positioned to be seen? Are you where
you ought to be - not just in seat, but in strategic space?
Dominion = Impact + Transformation
Being seen is one thing; being
consequential is another. Influence may open doors, but until it yields
measurable impact and visible transformation, it remains shallow. True dominion
is demonstrated by the works you reproduce in others, in systems, in
communities - not by accolades you collect solo.
Look at these statistics:
Organisations that invest in leadership development see up to a 25% boost in
business performance and a 20% increase in overall team effectiveness.
(eLearning Industry) Yet, at the same time, 77%
of organisations report a leadership gap. (eLearning Industry) What does this mean? Too many
leaders arrive - not enough conquer. Too many leaders show up - but still the
kingdom is not advanced.
Let me share a case study. In one
region of a major bank in Africa, the leader made a radical shift. He said: “If
you are not building leaders, you are not leading.” What happened? Three years
later, his region produced one in every four senior branch managers
across the country. (Workforce Group) He didn’t just grow himself; he
multiplied others. That is dominion.
Multiplication Is the Scoreboard
Your personal growth is admirable - but
insufficient. The measurement of your leadership strategy lies in reproduction.
Ask yourself:
- How many people have you developed who now lead?
- How many systems have you built that now operate
without you?
- How many communities have you empowered so that
transformation continues even when you step away?
In leadership literature, this is called
the “multiplier effect” - the idea that when you lead others to lead, you leave
a legacy. (PrimeGenesis) A leader who hoards influence
diminishes the kingdom; a leader who releases influence multiplies impact.
Integrity Is Non-Negotiable
Because friends, dominion attained
through illegality, corruption, oppression - that is not acceptable. The
Scriptures condemn it. The mandate is righteous dominion. Earth-filling,
subduing, fruitful; but under the character of our Creator. Avoid shortcuts - those
will destroy you and your legacy. Let your kingdom-building be upright,
transparent, accountable. ‘……He who rules over men must be just, Ruling in the fear of God…’ (2 Sam. 23:3)
Strategy for Leaders: From Presence to Position to Multiplication
Here are actionable steps for you,
whether you are in government, business, ministry, or community work:
- Audit your current position - Are you simply present, or positioned? Where is your
sphere of influence? Map it.
- Define your conquest arena - What territory (market, community, system) has been
assigned to you? What transformation do you seek?
- Develop others intentionally - Mentor, coach, delegate, empower. Your greatest
return will be in those you develop.
- Measure multiplication - Track how many leaders you’ve raised, how many
systems you’ve implemented, how many lives transformed.
- Maintain integrity
- Let your progress be built in righteousness, not shortcuts. Dominion
built in darkness will collapse.
- Communicate your legacy vision - Leadership is not a job; it is a covenant to
reproduce. Let others buy into the vision of multiplying.
- Celebrate acceleration - Don’t just applaud individual wins; celebrate
reproduced wins. Those are your kingdom increments.
A Story to Relate
A young man in ministry who
was invited to lead a young adults’ initiative. He showed up every week,
faithful. But for two years nothing moved beyond the weekly meetings. Then he
shifted: he identified five young men; he met with each weekly; he coached them
in leadership and life; placed them in responsibility; empowered them. Year
three, those five became leaders of new groups; the original meeting planted
five seedlings which grew into twenty; those twenty replicated into forty. That
is multiplication. That is dominion. The presence was constant - but the
positioning and the multiplication changed the story.
Call to Action
Leaders, government officials,
professionals, change-makers: It’s time to ascend from showing up to being
seen. It’s time to move from mere influence to measurable impact. Choose today
to:
- Position yourself where you are seen and known.
- Lead with the purpose of reproduction - not retention.
- Build systems that go beyond your personal capacity.
- Commit to integrity - walk the path of righteousness in
dominion.
- Measure your multiplication.
- Declare your legacy.
